Annelie Venter
ABOUT
Annelie Venter was born in Namibia and grew up on a large farm near Kamanjab in the Kaokoveld. She currently resides on a farm in the Sandveld near Piketberg on the West Coast of South Africa.
Annelie’s environment, as well as her childhood surroundings, steers her artistic vision and direction. Her work include landscape, animal and still life paintings. In recent times her focus shifted to flower landscapes, mainly with an aerial view, and portraiture. Her medium of choice is oil on canvas or board, but she is also proficient in charcoal and pastel on paper.
Since 2004 Annelie has participated in more than 80 group exhibitions at various contemporary galleries with artists like Johann Louw, Clare Menck, William Kentridge, Dianne Victor, Andries Gouws and many more well-known artists. She also had two solo exhibitions at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery in Durbanville and one at Casa Labia when she turned 60 in 2015. In 2015 she was in the shortlist of 5 to win the Sanlam Portrait award .
